Littywood Manor Staffordshire Wedding Photography: Sophie & Alex

Littywood Manor Wedding Venue

The incredible Sophie & Alex's wedding! It was terrific to be back at Littywood Manor for Alex and Sophie's wedding. No pressure at all for this one, Sophie being the daughter of Tim and Bambi who own Littywood! Eek! Fortunately I had had my Weetabix that morning and, in the words of Alex, I "nailed it!" Phew!

Bradley Church Service

It's always a real pleasure to photograph a church service, this time it was a really pretty church of St Mary & All Saints in the small village of Bradley about a mile away from Littywood Manor. We were blessed with superb weather for this part of the day. It's a small but extremely characterful church with some challenging but beautiful light. Sophie looked beautiful, and it was a thrill as always to capture the first look as Alex turned round to see Sophie for the first time. The confetti run outside made for some terrific moments in the sunshine. The releasing of the doves was a lovely touch - I don't often get to capture this! Timing is key!

Back to the Littywood Manor Tipi

Guests were treated to some incredible canapés and drinks back at Littywood, then after some mingling I organised the family photos. We were blessed with just five minutes of the setting sun through the trees which provided the most exquisite backlighting to the portraits of Sophie & Alex - I was really delighted we got these. Not long afterwards the heavens opened but fortunately we had captured everything we needed to - very lucky indeed!

The singing waiters were superb and really got the crowd dancing and cheering - it was a pleasure to capture the joy on people's faces. The first dance was just brilliant - Alex and Sophie had practised a dance to a favourite song My Beloved Monster - I really enjoyed capturing Alex's very expressive face! I had spent quite a lot of time setting up my lights in the tipi around the dancefloor. The lighting in the tipi was very challenging indeed but with my experience I have a pretty good intuition for working out where the action is going to be and where best to put my lights. As I'm sure you'll agree, I lit them to perfection! I love the confetti cannon shot with Alex hugging Sophie!

Thanks for having me along for the ride!! That was one epic wedding - I can't wait to put the album together... :-)

"Frank, YOU ABSOLUTELY NAILED IT!!!" Alex

I’d really like to give a shout out to all the fantastic suppliers who made the wedding so epic:
