An adjective that springs to mind when looking back at Kim and Oli’s wedding that I photographed back in June is “British” . The weather was quintessentially British as was the London routemaster bus!
The morning started with me covering Kim’s bridal prep at her mum’s house while my partner-in-crime for the day, Paul, captured the guys getting ready. A big red London bus ferried guests to the church and then on to the wedding reception. The service was held at St Leonard’s in the morning – a lovely C of E church in Marston Green. The vicar’s wedding gift for the couple was a cuddly toy dog called Fido and talked about the importance of fidelity in marriage – “Fido” from the Latin for faithful “Fidus” – geddit? 😀
It did rain all day until about an hour after the service. I know that rain is many a bride-to-be’s fear but as you’ll see from the photos everyone had a great time and the umbrellas actually added some nice colour to the photographs! In true British fashion the unpredictable weather turned from rain to glorious sunshine later in the afternoon which was very welcome.
The speeches were were both moving and hilarious (as it should be!) which made for some lovely reactions shots of the guests! It was lovely to see a sweet trolley – I pushed all the children out of the way and filled my boots. (Joke!) (Kind of) 😀
Hampton Manor is a splendid wedding venue with beautiful grounds and a very grand house that has been superbly maintained – well worth a look if you’re planning your wedding. Anyway, I’ve probably gone on long enough… Congratulations Kim and Oli! Enjoy the photos!
