Stoneleigh Abbey Wedding Photography: Chloe & Rob
I had the privilege of photographing Chloe and Rob’s wedding at Stoneleigh Abbey in late summer this year. My day started with bridal preparation at Chloe’s parents’ home in Great Alne in Warwickshire. There was a lovely relaxed atmosphere for the morning preparations and as always I enjoyed capturing fleeting moments of the girls getting ready.
The wedding ceremony took place at Holy Trinity Church in Norton Lindsey, a short distance away. After a beautiful traditional service the bride and groom drove off in Chloe’s father’s Porsche to Stoneleigh Abbey. Rob was understandably a little nervous about the drive but I believe it passed without incident! Drinks and canapés were held in the Orangery followed by the wedding breakfast in the splendid 18th century dining room. We were extrme;y lucky in the evening as we were treated to a beautiful sunset which lit up the façade of the building with a wonderful golden glow. Guests flowed out on to the lawn and took photos of the stunning view – I couldn’t resist taking a couple of Chloe and Rob with this perfect backdrop.
For most of the day I love taking natural, relaxed photos. I like to capture emotion and particularly people’s reactions. After a small number of family photos I took Chloe and Rob for a walk around the magnificent grounds of Stoneleigh Abbey. Though I have many photos that I love from the day, possibly my favourite is the last one, a night shot, which was taken in the Gatehouse entrance to Stoneleigh Abbey’s Stables. I noticed the light reflected on the damp cobbles and just knew I just had to lie down and capture the shot! Photography can be hard work at times but it’s incredibly rewarding when you realise your creative ideas.
Stoneleigh Abbey – a top wedding venue in Warwickshire
Stoneleigh Abbey is a Grade 1 listed mansion in Stoneleigh, Warwickshire. It provides a magnificent setting for weddings. The grounds were designed in the 18th century by Humphry Repton whom Jane Austen much admired. She wrote about redesigning gardens in her novel, Mansfield Park. If you’re looking for a wonderful Warwickshire wedding venue this must be on the shortlist!
Congratulations Chloe and Rob! Many thanks for having me along! 🙂
