Heythrop Park Wedding Photography
Seema & Dan first contacted me about photographing their wedding at the Crowne Plaza Heythrop Park as I had previously photographed their friends’ weddings. They’d loved the photos of Ashleigh and Stuart’s and I was really delighted when they decided to book me. Seema & Dan had chosen the magnificent Heythrop Park for their wedding. This was my first time at Heythrop Park and what a wonderful setting in Oxfordshire for a wedding – on the edge of the Cotswolds set in 440 acres of land it really is a vast and impressive venue.
Photographs in the Heythrop Park Bridal Suite
Seema and her bridesmaids got ready in one of the lovely suites and had great fun doing their hair and make-up. As Seema’s family have an Indian heritage, Dan and his groomsmen entered into the spirit of the occasion and approached the house dancing to the accompaniment of a Dhol player. This added enormously to the fun right from the start of the wedding. There was an Indian style entrance of the groom who was met by Seema’s family at the entrance to the house who showered him with petals and enjoyed making fun of him! All the guests followed into the double height arcaded hall and then onto the wedding ceremony room.
Heythrop Park wedding photography in the Long Gallery
The wedding took place in a long gallery at the rear of the house. The aisle had been beautifully decorated with posies of flowers. The ceremony was full of emotion – a few tears were shed, but it also had some comedy moments. The registrar had forgotten to say to Dan “You may now kiss the bride” so Dan was quite rightly waiting for this special moment to arrive which didn’t seem to be happening- so he had to ask the registrar “Can I kiss her yet?” 😀 He then finally got his cue!
After the ceremony guests were ushered out on to the terrace. A two piece band played to guests as they enjoyed their drinks and canapés. There was a lovely moment where Seema and Dan had a a little dance – a little rehearsal for their first dance later in the evening! I photographed some great moments! See below!
Heythrop Park: one of the most prestigious wedding venues in Oxfordshire & The Cotswolds
After the meal and the wonderful speeches that followed, I wanted to catch the sunset, so Seema & Dan and I set off in 2 golf buggies to explore the grounds as the sun was setting. We got a bit lost, rather embarrassingly, as I’d intended to find the lake! However, if you take a look at the photos I think you’ll agree I think it resulted with some beautiful portraits – probably better than the ones I had had in mind!
The first dance followed and the day ended in a spectacular firework display. It really was a magnificent wedding and a real privilege to document. I love taking natural wedding photos and I was able to capture so many of them at this lovely wedding venue at Heythrop Park. Big congratulations to Seema & Dan – and thank you for inviting me to your special day. 🙂
“Frank these are absolutely wonderful! They have captured the day perfectly and made me smile so much looking through them all! How are we going to choose just 80 pics?! Thank you so much for being part of our day, we are so glad we met you through Stu and Ash as now we have perfect photos to treasure forever.” Seema & Dan
